The Other Side (2014) captures the Hermosa Beach Pier at twilight, as warm golden light washes across the shoreline and transforms a familiar landmark into something quietly radiant. The work evokes the subtle wealth of this iconic beach community—not in material excess, but in atmosphere, light, and shared experience. This artwork is issued in an exceptionally limited edition of five. Each photograph is mounted on canvas and individually finished by the artist with hand-applied resin and ink, resulting in a richly layered surface with depth, texture, and luminosity. Because the finishing process is done by hand, no two works are exactly alike—each edition exists as a singular object rather than a conventional reproduction.

Custom made upon order, these works reflect John DeTemple’s direct involvement at every stage of creation.
